Site Services Engineer - Mechanical

NRL Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Services Engineer - Mechanical to join a world-leading, global Battery Manufacturing organisation based in the Northeast of England. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting and advanced industrial developments in many years, where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and maintain primary building services, including compressed air, chilled water, and DI water plant, gas-fired steam boiler, and LTHW plant, clean/dry room dehumidification, and general HVAC plant, LEV and VOC extract systems, fire detection and suppression systems.
  2. Oversee incoming utilities, including water, natural gas, and site drainage.
  3. Develop and implement full lifecycle preventative maintenance strategies and schedules for site services.
  4. Ensure safe working procedures are developed and implemented in accordance with recognised industry standards and approved codes of practice, including FMEA and Risk assessment.
  5. Coordinate, control, and safely manage external contractors, including contractor management.
  6. Manage major breakdown incidents, restoration, and corrective maintenance.
  7. Prepare and control annual Capex and Opex budgets.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. The Site Services Engineer - Mechanical may also be involved in new plant development activity, including:
  2. Preparing mechanical services design specifications.
  3. Implementing and managing Building and Energy Management Systems.
  4. Project management and coordination, including project budget preparation and cashflow management.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Site / Building Services.
  2. Electrical Engineering experience, including LV distribution and BMS system knowledge.
  3. Demonstrable experience in a relevant site services or mechanical engineering role.
  4. Knowledge of relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance requirements.
  5. Strong PC skills, including MS applications, MS Project, and AutoCad/ Revit or similar applications.
  6. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills.
Desirable (but not essential) requirements:
  1. Knowledge and experience of ATEX, HAZOP, COMAH, LOLER, EPR, Legionella Management.
  2. Experience of Fire Protection and Suppression systems.
  3. Clean / Dry Room Production environment experience.
  4. UK Driving licence holder.
