Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Acute Inpatient Speech and Language Therapy team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a Specialist Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with complex swallowing and communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive communication and swallowing assessments on patients with diverse presentations and complex neurological and psychological conditions.
  • Develop and deliver individualized treatment programs to maximize patients' swallowing and communication function.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide equitable and evidence-based input at various points along the care pathway.
  • Hold responsibility for own caseload and be accountable for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative Speech and Language Therapy service comprising over 40 SLTs. As a core member of the Adult Speech & Language Therapy team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive and flexible environment.

Requirements
  • Significant postgraduate clinical experience in relevant core areas.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams, particularly in specific clinical areas.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council and membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable).
  • Excellent organizational and team working skills, with the ability to work autonomously and take appropriate responsibilities.
