Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Primary SEN Class Teacher to join our team at the ASD Centre on a maternity cover basis. This 1-year fixed-term position offers the ideal opportunity for a talented educator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
- To teach pupils assigned to the teacher and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
- Role model the ethos and core values of the school while teaching pupils.
- Assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work, policies, and teaching strategies within the school.
- To ensure the effective and efficient use of any staff supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
- To teach pupils according to their educational needs.
- To implement and follow school policies and procedures as approved by the Governors and SLT.
- To set targets for pupils based upon prior attainment.
- Provide a supportive learning environment where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils.
- To participate in the appraisal process for the evaluation of their own performance.
This role encompasses various responsibilities aimed at delivering high-quality education to our students. Some of these include:
- Contributing to raising and maintaining standards of achievement.
- Teaching and learning through implementing engaging lesson plans and ensuring pupil progress.
- Maintaining accurate records of pupil assessments and progress.
- Participating in staff meetings and contributing to the overall well-being of the school community.
- Staying up-to-date with relevant educational developments and best practices.
