About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and qualified English Language Acquisition Teacher to join our thriving community. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting second language learners across all levels and abilities. You will have an excellent understanding of language acquisition and be confident in delivering engaging and effective lessons to individuals and groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the IB MYP and IB DP English Language Acquisition curriculum to students in Years 7 to 13.
- Design and implement a comprehensive English Language Development (ELD) programme to cater to students in Years 7 to 9.
- Prepare and assess various assignments following IB protocols, showcasing your expertise in teaching and evaluation.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those for whom English is not their first language.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies and technology to promote English language and culture, ensuring student engagement and motivation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and develop interdisciplinary links, promoting a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the school's admissions process as required, utilizing your exceptional communication skills.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in language teaching, reflecting your commitment to excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification.
- Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Hold EAL, ELD, ESL, or TESOL qualification or relevant experience.
- Bonus points if you have experience working with the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
