Job Title: CAMHS Children

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Education Mental Health Practitioner. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children and young people, their families, and other professionals to provide high-quality mental health support.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • Work closely with children, young people, and their families to identify and address mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, social workers, and healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families to ensure effective support and outcomes.
  • Conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and develop individualized plans to support children and young people.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1-year 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid trained.
  • Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families.
  • Ability to conduct group parenting programs and work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness.
  • Ability to conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and develop individualized plans.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Experience working with children and young people, their families, and other professionals.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings and navigating complex social systems.
  • Ability to personally manage a sensitive, traumatic, and potentially emotionally distressing caseload.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
