About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Renewables Manager to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As a key player in shaping the future of community energy, you will be responsible for engaging with community energy groups, driving business development, and supporting the growth of the community energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community energy groups, identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the renewables sector.
  • Contribute to the development of business strategies and plans to drive growth and success in the community energy sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) sites and partnerships.
  • Support the delivery of financial assistance to community energy groups through grants and loans.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the UK power markets and market drivers, including supply and demand fundamentals.
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and community engagement.
  • Commercial relationship management and business development experience.
  • Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders and adopt various influencing strategies.
  • Relevant academic or vocational qualifications or equivalent experience in a commercial setting.
  • Knowledge and experience of the renewable energy sector, with a strong desire to achieve results.
