About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Renewables Manager to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As a key player in shaping the future of community energy, you will be responsible for engaging and leading relationship activities with community energy groups, holding regular meetings with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and innovation in the renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and innovation in the community energy sector
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community energy groups, stakeholders, and partners
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) sites and partnerships
  • Highlight and promote opportunities for The Midcounties Co-operative to assist community energy groups via financial assistance – grants (Powering Communities |Fund) and loans (Community Energy Kickstart)

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the UK power markets and market drivers, including supply and demand fundamentals
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and supporting communities
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial relationship management and business development success
  • Experience in managing and influencing a wide range of differing stakeholders
  • Relevant academic or vocational qualifications or equivalent experience obtained within a commercial setting
