About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Renewables Manager to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As a key player in shaping the future of community energy, you will be responsible for engaging and leading relationship activities with community energy groups, driving growth and innovation in the renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community energy groups, stakeholders, and partners to enhance collaboration and innovation in the renewables sector.
  • Contribute to the development of business strategies and plans to drive growth and success for the community energy sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) sites and partnerships.
  • Highlight and promote opportunities for The Midcounties Co-operative to support community energy groups through financial assistance, grants, and loans.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the UK power markets and market drivers, including supply and demand fundamentals.
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and community engagement, with a self-starting attitude and ability to drive innovation.
  • Commercial relationship management and business development experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, with a strong desire to achieve results.
  • Relevant academic or vocational qualifications or equivalent experience obtained within a commercial setting.
