We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team as a Senior Healthcare Assistant / Assistant Practitioner at our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) in Southampton. This is a full-time permanent position, working 4 shifts per week on a rostered basis, with pay enhancements for working antisocial hours.

The successful candidate will provide direct hands-on support and advice in all matters relating to a range of presenting conditions at the UTC, while providing effective and supportive leadership skills to the HCA team. You will work closely with Registered Nurses, Paramedics, and other clinical staff to ensure that high-quality basic clinical care is provided to patients. As part of your role, you will also be responsible for supervising the other Healthcare Assistants to develop their skills and abilities.

About the Role
The Senior Healthcare Assistant / Assistant Practitioner will be responsible for:
• Providing direct patient care and support
• Supervising and mentoring junior HCAs
• Maintaining accurate records and databases
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellent patient outcomes

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• An NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
• Experience working in a hospital setting as a Healthcare Assistant
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with health and safety protocols
