Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood as a Lead General Practitioner. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, leading a team of healthcare professionals and providing clinical governance and leadership to the prison's healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the Primary Care team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical governance standards.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with NHS and prison service standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, including multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of healthcare strategies, ensuring alignment with the prison's healthcare vision and objectives.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members, promoting professional development and growth.
Requirements
- MBChB or MBBS qualification and inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice, with a strong background in clinical governance and leadership.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
- Ability to line manage clinicians and support with clinical supervision.
