The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operational services to support the Management Team. This will involve providing management and leadership to administrative and clerical staff, as well as contributing to the implementation of strategy. The post holder will have specific responsibility for the management of non-clinical services.

Requirements
  • Degree in Administration/Information Management/Public Services Management or equivalent
  • Experience of staff management
  • Excellent/Advanced IT Skills
  • Numeracy skills
  • Budgetary experience
  • Competent knowledge of NHS Policies & Procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and to make decisions in a pressurised environment
  • Driving Licence/Car Driver essential
Contract Type

Fixed Term or Secondment until 31st March 2026

Part Time

29.7 hours

Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Please note this is a fixed-term post until 31st March 2026. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in the Health Improvement Team within the Beckford Street offices, Hamilton.

The working pattern for this role will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
