Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant to join our team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of clinical services.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in pain management and anaesthetics, with experience in managing acute and chronic pain. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest clinical standards in the management of pain and anaesthesia, as well as sharing your expertise with colleagues to ensure the day-to-day management of the Pain and Anaesthetic departments.
You will also be responsible for teaching and training junior staff and medical students, as well as participating in quality improvement, data analysis, and information presentation. Additionally, you will have a 50% commitment to pain and 50% to anaesthesia, with input into the emergency general anaesthetic rotas.

ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the highest clinical standards in the management of pain and anaesthesia
- Sharing expertise with colleagues to ensure the day-to-day management of the Pain and Anaesthetic departments
- Teaching and training junior staff and medical students
- Participating in quality improvement, data analysis, and information presentation
- Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical services
