**Job Title:** Senior Manufacturing Technologist
**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Technologist to join our team at Fortnum & Mason. As a key member of our Technical Product Development team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the technical and CSR aspects of our New Product Development process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to ensure that all products developed and launched meet external commitments, product safety, and legal due diligence requirements.
- Supplier Management: Manage our supplier relationships to ensure risk management, traceability, and the implementation and maintenance of a sustainable supplier quality management system across our supply base.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate and provide quantifiable metrics to allow real-time assessment of supplier performance against our Technical & CSR targets and operational procedures.
- Communication: Provide regular updates on the status of NPD projects, flag potential issues in advance, and ensure resolution prior to projects falling behind.
- Surveillance Testing: Ensure product surveillance testing requirements are included in all product specifications and that testing is scheduled and followed.
- Training and Development: Provide training to new staff on Technical NPD requirements and ensure compliance with internal audits and cross-functional Technical NPD requirements.
- Reporting: Report on supplier performance internally and ensure that supplier plans are completed and goals and KPI status are inputted into the online supplier portal for reporting.
Requirements:
- Scientific Degree or Equivalent: A scientific degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Experience: At least 3 years' experience in a technical area in either retailing or manufacturing.
- Skills: Good understanding of Quality management systems and Food Safety management, strong questioning and probing skills, familiarity with law and regulatory guidelines, strong project management skills, and ability to prioritize own workload.
