**Job Description:** Support Assistant for Students with Special Needs

**Estimated Salary:** £28,000 - £35,000 per annum

Tempest Resourcing Limited is seeking a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Support Assistant for students with special educational needs. As a valued member of our team, you will provide essential support to students with complex needs, develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality education.

The college provides a safe and supportive environment for students aged 16-21 with profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties, and specific medical needs.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with one-on-one care and assistance
  • Assisting teaching staff and therapy teams in delivering student programs
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs
  • Knowledge of various disabilities and conditions, such as PMLD, autism, and behaviours of concern
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support and services to students and their families
