We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Support Assistant to join our team at a vibrant primary school in Mitcham, Southwest London. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

You will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide targeted support in both small groups and 1:1 sessions, helping students to engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their self-confidence and independence.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a Support Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs. You should have:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
  • Ideally, experience working with children in a school or educational setting (though not essential).
  • An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional development.
