About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and handle all excess casualty and professional lines insurance claims emanating from policies written by Argo Insurance in Bermuda.
- Manage a team of three claims adjusters to ensure department goals are met, including providing training, mentoring, and technical oversight.
- Provide support to the underwriting team, actuaries, and senior management, including advising on claims developments, trends, and market issues.
- Ensure full compliance with all stipulated global and local operating protocols, procedures, and policies, service standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with claims adjusters and outside counsel to put cost-effective and appropriate litigation management strategies in place.
Requirements:
- A minimum 10 years' experience adjudicating direct excess casualty & professional lines claims with limited direction.
- A proven ability to negotiate, problem solve, and make decisions with sound and reasoned judgment.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of assessing coverage under the Bermuda form, as well as London and US excess forms.
- Ability to build strong relationships with brokers and other insurance market participants in and outside the Bermuda market.
- Ability to understand and apply regulatory and legal requirements in the claims context.
