Job Summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Fellow to join their Bone Infection Unit on a twelve-month fixed term contract. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to work alongside experienced bone infection specialists, including consultants in orthopaedic oncology and complex arthroplasty.

Main Duties
  • Teaching: The appointee will be responsible for providing teaching and advice to medical students from Birmingham University while on their oncology attachment to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
  • Research: The post holder will have access to research sessions to support ongoing research and audit commitments.
  • Audit: The appointee will play an active role in the Hospital's clinical audit programme, working in accordance with criteria set by the Trust and the Royal College of Surgeons.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Registration with the GMC with a licence to practice
    • FRCS (Orthopaedic) or an appropriate higher surgical qualification
    • Significant experience as an orthopaedic trainee
  • Desirable:
    • Limb salvage experience
