Job Title: Senior Project Assurance Engineer

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Assurance Engineer to join our Airborne Radar Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and completion of all allocated projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to all aspects of Quality, ensuring the success and completion of all allocated projects.
  • Deliver all assurance activities defined by the IPT, ensuring they are maintained as relevant in line with the changing project demands.
  • Be fully aware and engaged with the Operational and IPT risks and opportunities, supporting and taking leadership where appropriate to drive progress.
  • Agree risk-based internal assessments with the IPT lead and deliver these to completion, including managing any findings to closure.
  • Analyse and communicate information to support the escalation and clear communication of IPT requirements, ensuring correct decision-making.
  • Take leadership on behalf of the IPT on all instances of Non-Conformance and Failure, ensuring situations are managed collectively to a dependable closure with the IPT Peer Group.
  • Support and mentor more junior members of the Assurance Team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or experience in Defence, Electronics, or similarly complex industries.
  • Demonstrate Governance, knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Development and Design Assurance support to these stages of the lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, Validation, and First Article Inspection.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Have effective time management, including prioritisation and escalation.
  • Demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
