About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Hematology Specialist to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing senior leadership and supervising the diagnostic process and treatment of children and young people up to the age of 16 with leukaemia and those undergoing stem cell transplant.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 18 months specialist training and experience in paediatric haematology, including leukaemia & HSCT. They will also have experience of emergency management of paediatric patients with solid tumours and a good understanding of NHS management responsibilities of consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing senior leadership and supervising the diagnostic process and treatment of children and young people up to the age of 16 with leukaemia and those undergoing stem cell transplant.
  • Working closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in our dedicated haematology and oncology outpatient clinic and co-located inpatient ward.
  • Contributing to the consultant of the week rota (1:3) as well as outpatient clinics for both on and off treatment patients.

Person Specification:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCPCH by examination or equivalent qualification.
  • On the GMC's Specialist Register OR within six months of CCT at time of scheduled interview.

Salary:£100,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
