Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join ION as a Senior Reporter, where you will play a leading role in providing exclusive content on mergers and acquisitions, equity, and debt financing in the renewable energy sector. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality analytics and strategic consulting to corporations, central banks, financial institutions, and governments.

About the Role:

As a Senior Reporter, you will be responsible for producing five exclusive stories per week on topics such as M&A, renewables, power generation, financing, people moves, fund profiles, corporate strategy, and trend analyses. You will also support our on-diary news coverage, build relationships with finance professionals, and work closely with our EMEA editor, senior editors, and colleagues across the group to create targeted content for key customer segments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To target five exclusive stories a week on topics such as M&A, renewables, and power generation, financing, people moves, fund profiles, corporate strategy, and trend analyses, as well as to support on-diary news coverage.
  • Build and develop contacts with the finance community, including investors, corporates, developers, lenders, and advisors.
  • Assist with ION Analytics', primarily Infralogic's, events with content creation, panel moderation, and speaking.
  • Work with the EMEA editor, senior editors, and collaborating with colleagues across the group, to support content creation targeted at ION Analytics' key customer segments.
  • Maintain high standards of copy and adhering to group-wide compliance policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the financial market, with proven record of reporting exclusives.
  • At least five years of reporting experience in a reputable newsroom, with global exposure.
  • Proven record of breaking news for a media organisation, as well as writing in-depth analyses.
  • Ability to spot trends in market data and conduct research to identify and produce reports.
  • Track record of ability to build network of sources to produce reports.
  • Strong news and analyses writing skills.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
