Electrical Engineer (Solar) Job Description

Red Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Solar) to join our client, a leading company in the UK solar industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios and will be responsible for conducting reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits, system testing, and fault diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and legislative requirements
  2. Supporting the development and implementation of technical standards and procedures
  3. Collaborating with the 'back-office' function to provide technical expertise and guidance
  4. Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to ensure the company remains at the forefront of solar technology

Requirements:

  1. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  2. Safe Isolation certification
  3. 2391 (17th edition) certification
  4. Proven experience in commercial (up to 1MW) and domestic rooftop solar PV
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
