About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties and to make a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess and deliver evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  2. Work in partnership with children, young people, their families, and educators to support the self-management of presenting difficulties.
  3. Develop and implement plans for intervention and agreed outcomes in collaboration with the child, young person, and their support network.
  4. Provide information and support for evidence-based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help.
  5. Attend multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings relating to referrals or children and young people in treatment.
Requirements
  • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services.
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice.

  • Able to attend university courses at the Exeter campus or online.
