Transport Planner Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Best Food Logistics. As a key member of our Operations Team, you will be responsible for designing, refining, and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency of our transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day route planning for multiple distribution centres, ensuring our logistics run smoothly.
  • Oversee and adjust daily transport routes, ensuring deliveries run on time while maximising vehicle capacity and reducing wasted resources.
  • Support the full re-planning process, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing improvements.
  • Analyse performance data, reviewing planned routes against actual order volumes on a daily basis and making necessary adjustments to maintain high efficiency.
  • Ensure that all routes adhere to legal and business regulations, balancing compliance with vehicle efficiency and service targets.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience using Paragon transport planning software, ideally in a current or recent role.
  • Strong command of IT skills, especially MS Excel, with the ability to analyse data and present clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with teams and stakeholders, presenting information clearly and confidently.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines, taking ownership of tasks and delivering them efficiently.
  • Strong team player, building and maintaining strong working relationships within a small, close-knit team.
