Job Summary
This exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled and compassionate Registered General Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Specialist Nurse for Vulnerable Youth. The successful candidate will work with children and young people in care, providing expert health assessments, interventions, and support to ensure their optimal well-being.
About the Role
As a Clinical Specialist Nurse for Vulnerable Youth, your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive health assessments, develop individualized health plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to promote the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of children and young people in care.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, foster carers, and other professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive statutory review health assessments, using a trauma-informed approach, to identify health needs and develop targeted interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized health plans, in collaboration with the child, their family, and other professionals, to promote optimal health and well-being.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on health-related matters affecting children and young people in care.
- Promote health education and awareness among children, young people, and their families, focusing on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with local authorities, voluntary organizations, and community groups to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes for vulnerable youth.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A diploma or degree in nursing (RGN, RCHN, RMN) and current registration with the NMC.
- Level 3 training in safeguarding children.
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with complex emotional needs, within a community setting.
- Ability to work autonomously, think critically, and make sound judgments in complex situations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, guidelines, and best practices related to children's care and welfare.

Livewell Southwest offers a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as:
