Surgical Emergency Nurse Specialist

The Surgical Emergency Assessment Unit (SEAU) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join their team as a Deputy Sister in this dynamic and challenging environment. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, supporting colleagues, and contributing to the smooth operation of the unit.
Main Responsibilities- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care to the highest standard
- Support colleagues in providing care and maintaining a positive team environment
- Deputise for the Department Manager and coordinate the team's workload
- Registered Nurse Level 1 qualification
- Teaching and Assessing qualification or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- ALS / ILS/HDU course + competencies
- Degree
- Recruitment and Selection Training
- Managing attendance Training
- ALERT
- KSF Appraisal Training
- Experience of working in an acute environment
- Experience of acting as 'shift coordinator' / Bleep Holder on a regular basis
- Experience of mentoring students and acting as preceptor to newly qualified nurses
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safe working practices and team morale
- Ability to motivate nursing team
- Ability to communicate effectively with written and verbal skills
