About Us:
We are a specialist school in Folkestone, Kent, providing education to students aged 11-18 with social emotional mental health and/or behavioural needs. Our mission is to create a supportive environment that fosters the growth and development of our young people.
Salary: £23,338 per annum pro rata plus SEN Allowance of £1441.5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year (term time only plus 5 staff development days)
Job Description:
We are looking for an Assistant Teacher to join our team of professionals who are dedicated to providing bespoke learning experiences to vulnerable children and young people. The postholder will be required to work across our 4 sites in Ashford and Folkestone and East Kent College sites. Car driver essential.
The successful individual will have a commitment to young people and their education. Our students are of mixed and high ability (NC level 3-4 on entry) and as such are capable of achieving GCSE and other Level 2 qualifications in Year 11.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience or passion in working with students aged 11-18 years with a range of social emotional mental health and/or behavioural needs.
- Confidence in working in an education environment in which behaviour will be challenging on a regular basis.
- Commitment and enthusiasm to provide bespoke learning experiences to vulnerable children and young people.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
