About the Role

We are seeking an experienced practice nurse to join our team at Angel Hill Surgery, a well-established and friendly practice in Bury St Edmunds. As a primary care nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working closely with our team to provide exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake health assessments, administer medication and treatments, and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Provide and evaluate health interventions to meet patients' needs.
  • Promote general health and well-being, creating individual plans for patients with long-term conditions.
  • Manage and treat long-term conditions, adhering to national and local policies.
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately.
  • Support women's health needs, including sexual health and contraception consultations.
  • Implement vaccination and immunisation programmes for adults and children.
  • Meet wound care needs, running asthma and COPD clinics and reviews.

Requirements:

  • A relevant nursing qualification.
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
  • Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course or equivalent experience/qualifications/willingness to undertake.
  • Competence in asthma and COPD clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
  • Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, long-term condition management, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations, and wound care.
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting long-term conditions.
  • Insight into current issues in nursing and the NHS.
