Amazon is seeking a seasoned Regional Facilities Engineer to lead our data center operations in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering projects and contribute to the success of our global infrastructure.

About the Role

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. As a Regional Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the on-site operations of engineering teams, evaluating and implementing improvements to critical systems, and developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a mission-critical environment, including experience in large-scale events management. They will also have a bachelor's degree or technical degree and relevant experience. Previous vendor negotiation and management skills are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the on-site operations of engineering teams, including facilities managers, shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  2. Evaluate and implement improvements to critical systems, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including IT managers and business leaders.
  4. Maintain accurate records and reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a mission-critical environment and LSE (large scale events) management experience.
  • 3+ years of people-management experience.
  • Previous vendor negotiation and management skills for Data Center and/or upgrade construction contracts.
