Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Drive innovation in advanced power systems as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer at Anson McCade. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead innovative design, develop and design AC & DC power generation and distribution systems, and specify and create advanced power supplies and converters that meet rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of high-power electronics systems, including system sizing, protection, and control.
  • Design and specify motor drives and control systems, ensuring high precision and reliability in critical applications.
  • Oversee Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) management and verification, working with EMC test houses and supporting installations.
  • Specify and integrate bespoke procured hardware, ensuring it meets project requirements and performance standards.
  • Verify and test designs using simulation, analysis, and testing, and support EMC testing and collaboration with related engineering disciplines.
  • Generate detailed design documentation and technical reports, ensuring all project aspects are clearly communicated.

Requirements:

  • Technical expertise in electrical/electronic engineering or a related field, with experience in electronic design for volume production.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and EMC qualifications, particularly in high-safety environments.
  • Experience in design proving, integration, and defect resolution, with a focus on high power/high voltage equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
