About the Role

The Finance Officer is a crucial member of our team, reporting to the Chief Officer and working closely with the Fundraising Manager and other staff. The primary responsibility is to maintain accurate and timely transactional financial records for our charity.

This involves ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and charity policies, as well as supporting the Treasurer and Trustees in delivering our financial and regulatory reporting requirements.

  • As the first point of contact for finance-related queries, you will provide exceptional customer service, resolving issues efficiently and escalating when necessary.
  • You will be responsible for detailed recording of grants, gift aid, and other income to ensure complete and accurate revenue and expense recognition in our accounts.
  • Apart from managing sales invoicing, grant submissions, and gift aid claims, you will also oversee procurement contracts, suppliers, and contractors, maintaining accurate details for compliance purposes.
  • Cash management, petty cash processing, payroll data collation, and charge card administration are additional key responsibilities within this role.

We are seeking an individual with good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office packages, who can work independently with minimal supervision. An accounting qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.

In exchange for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary range of £28,000 pro rata (based on FTE / 40 hours per week), making this a rewarding opportunity for a motivated professional looking to make a difference in the charitable sector.
