Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Director to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group in Glasgow. As a key member of our Real Estate sector, you will be responsible for delivering projects and programmes across various sectors.

Main Purpose of Role:

  • To lead project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects.
  • To act as the primary client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.

Scope:

Senior Project Directors handle commissions of varying scale and value. Depending on the complexity of the project, they may work on strategic advice, establishment of success criteria, project planning, quality management, and effective governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising at a strategic level on project conception, including providing advice on different approaches to successfully achieve client objectives.
  • Leading the establishment of overall success criteria, including time, cost, technical, and performance parameters.
  • Planning for and managing quality, safety, health, and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance processes and systems.
  • Project planning, including ensuring the production of detailed project plans.
  • Leading and facilitating cross-functional project teams.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including KPIs.
  • Managing project finances.
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients and project teams.
  • Ensuring timely production of project progress reports.
  • Representing the company in interfacing with clients and other consultants.
  • Identifying opportunities for improving project management products and services.

Internal Management Accountabilities:

  • Staff Management (where applicable) – Participating in formal management processes, including resource allocation and attendance at junior staff appraisals.
  • Knowledge Management – Ensuring key information and learning from each project is documented in the internal database.
  • Financial Management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and monitoring project financial status using FMS.
  • Proven experience managing Real Estate projects, ideally in a consultancy environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum based on location and experience.
