About the Role:

We are currently looking for a technically adept Management & Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting, tax, financial reporting, performance and working capital management for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sharing responsibility for the day-to-day financial and management accounting, reporting system, general ledger and bookkeeping maintenance, adherence to financial policies and procedures and compliance with statutory regulations
  • Ensure P&L items such as sales, purchases, margin are recorded and calculated accurately
  • Review systems, processes and controls in the corporate stores functions and to document, recommend and implement changes from start to finish, incorporating the full end-to-end process
  • Understand the flow of transactions from start to finish and understand system deficiencies and recommend action steps to improve the governance and control environment going forward
  • Understand the design/implementation/operating effectiveness of controls within the business leading to a strong control environment
  • Assist with budgets and financial forecasts, including detailed commentary, if required
  • Understand how stock is calculated/valued to maintain accuracy and completion
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks/duties for Financial Controller/Head of Finance/COO

Requirements:

  • Holding a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CPA/CIMA) or part-qualified
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience and working with financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
