College Community Support Officer (CCSO)
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill this high-profile role, working closely with the College community and student wellbeing teams.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to engage hard to reach groups and disengaged students, promoting social cohesion and integration through the development and coordination of activities.
Responsibilities include providing first response to incidents across the College site, assisting Managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues, and implementing de-escalation techniques and restorative justice.
As Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases, the successful candidate will gather evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures as per the Safeguarding policy.
Essential qualifications include GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent at C/4 grade or above, as well as a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, e.g. Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work.
A First Aid Certificate and Door Supervisors certification or equivalent are desirable.
Experience of working with young people (including 14-19 year olds) and vulnerable adults, as well as those with challenging behaviour, is essential.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in Further Education and delivering training in the workplace.
Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, including Prevent and the Equality Act 2010, is also required.
A working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including databases, is essential.
