Optical Department Manager

About the Role
As a key member of our Asda Opticians team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation, ensuring that our customers receive high-quality patient service. Your leadership skills will be essential in managing your team of Optometrists and Optical assistants, overseeing compliance processes and procedures, reviewing sales forecasting and department targets, and dealing with customer queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate a team of Optometrists and Optical assistants to deliver exceptional patient care
- Oversee compliance processes and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
- Review sales forecasting and department targets to drive business growth
- Deal with customer queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Work closely with an Optometrist to coach and develop your team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
Requirements
- Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
- Confident in coaching others
- Able to provide excellent customer and patient care
- Driven and ambitious to ensure the department meets its targets
- Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced Optics environment
- Organised and able to manage your time effectively
