About the Position

Tameside Council's Fostering Team is seeking a skilled Social Work Practitioner to contribute to the delivery of high-quality foster care services. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster carers to provide safe, nurturing environments for children in need.

Salary: £35 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • You will assess and monitor foster carers to ensure they meet the required standards and competencies.
  • You will provide regular supervision to foster carers, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • You will attend Placement Planning Meetings to discuss the best interests of the child and develop effective care plans.

To be successful in this role, you will require a strong background in social work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements: Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England, Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent.
