Database Administrator Role in Retail Sector

A rapidly-growing retail organisation based in Peterborough is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join their Data & Insights team. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work from home two days a week and collaborate with colleagues in the office for the remaining three days.
The company has identified data as critical to their growth strategy and is striving to automate reporting wherever possible to enhance business decision-making. In this role, you'll use your SQL skills to maintain databases through typical database administration duties, including performing backups, disaster recovery planning, performance optimisation, and security.
You will also use an ETL tool called Rivery to build data pipelines to get data into their Snowflake data warehouse. Your goal will be to make improvements wherever possible, ensuring that the data is clean, accurate, and secure, so analysts can access it easily to create reports.
Requirements:- Strong skills in SQL database querying, optimisation, and working with relational data models
- Experience with various DBA tasks including backups, disaster recovery planning, performance optimisation, and security
- Knowledge of Snowflake would be beneficial but not essential
- Experience with ETL tools would be beneficial
- Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels
- Estimated salary: up to 40,000 - 50,000 per annum, depending on level of experience
