About the Role:

The Cambian Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical and emotional support to young people, enabling them to develop and reach their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to maintain a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of young people.
  • Build positive professional relationships with young people and other staff members, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Assist young people with their medical and welfare needs, reporting as required and contributing to the medical audit process.
  • Monitor young people's condition, checking temperatures, respiration, weight, and contributing to linked record keeping in the Master Care Plan.
  • Help young people maintain their personal cleanliness, general hygiene, and appearance, including intimate care and invasive care as required.
  • Keep up to date with and promote various communication and information systems.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate, contributing to the effective planning, preparation, supervision, and review of routines, social activities, and the waking day curriculum.
  • Take responsibility for completing activity planners, sign-in/out books for on/off-site activities, and provide constructive feedback to support workers to improve their performance.
  • Notify management promptly of any matters relevant to the well-being of young people.
  • Lead shifts and carry out appropriate debriefs as required.

Person Specification:

  • Ability to carry out effective debriefs.
  • Qualification – Level 3 RQF certificate in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
