We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team at The Cambian Group. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings, including residential care, education, and off-site activities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide physical and emotional support to young people, enabling them to develop and reach their full potential.
- Work as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of young people.
- Be a good role model and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, representing The Cambian Group with integrity.
- Support young people in developing their personal cleanliness, general hygiene, and appearance, including intimate care and invasive care when trained.
- Monitor young people's condition, checking temperatures, respiration, weight, and contribute to linked record keeping in the Master Care Plan.
- Assist young people with their medical and welfare needs, reporting as required, and administering medication as needed.
- Keep up to date with and actively promote various communication and information systems.
- Attend and participate in meetings as appropriate, taking an active role in the planning, preparation, supervision, and review of routines, social, and recreational activities.
- Be an effective Keyworker/Personal Tutor for 1 or more young people, supporting them in managing their behavior and promoting equality and inclusivity.
- Take primary responsibility for a specific area of service development or a specific project, working collaboratively with the team to achieve goals.
- Attend all required training and be prepared to achieve qualifications appropriate to the role, as specified by The Cambian Group.
- Support young people in preparing for and undergoing transfers from one residential setting to another, actively liaising with the transition department.
- Ensure awareness of and adherence to all procedures and policy changes, disseminating information to team members as needed.
- Be prepared to and pass an assessment to drive the minibus, if required, holding a full driving license and being 21 years old or over.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others, contributing to a safe and secure environment for young people.
- Level 3 RQF certificate in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to carry out effective debriefing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Flexibility and willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
