Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Lead for Adult Audiology to join our dynamic team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our Audiology Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of national and local policy across the department to ensure patients receive the highest quality of evidence-based care.
  • Support the Head of Service, Head of Operations, and senior management team to improve access to audiology services.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Leads, Head of Operations, Clinical Directors, and Service Managers to identify, scope, agree, and deliver quality and efficiency improvement projects and programs.
  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement across the Audiology Department, ensuring the effective delivery of the Adult Audiology service to nationally agreed levels of activity and quality.
Key Requirements
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience working autonomously in both diagnostic and rehabilitative Adult Audiology.
  • Evidence of management/supervisory experience.
  • Evidence of sound knowledge and clinical experience of a full range of both basic and advanced adult assessment and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Wide knowledge and experience of NHS networks/referral routes.
  • Experience of clinical audit, research, and presentations at scientific meetings.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communicator particularly with the hard of hearing and Deaf.
  • Possess fine manual dexterity.
  • Good basic computer skills – database and spreadsheet use.
  • Evidence of an enquiring mind, a scientific approach, and a commitment to the ideal of the NHS.
