We are looking for a Motion Control Engineer to join our European Technical Centre in Milton Keynes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and setting up industrial motion control systems using PLCs, motor drives, and instrumentation.

The successful candidate will have experience with industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, OPC UA, and IO-Link) and the ability to plan and manage own projects. You will also be required to work as part of a multicultural team who deliver results by consensus.

In this role, you will be involved in:

  • Designing and setting up industrial motion control systems
  • Configuring and programming PLCs and motor drives
  • Working with linear, rotary, and gripping electrical motion applications
  • Writing technical reports and product documentation

The estimated annual salary for this position is £45,000-£60,000, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. The role also offers private medical insurance and SMC rewards and benefits portal including retail discounts.
