About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-profile projects that benefit our clients, biodiversity, and society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on nationally important infrastructure projects, managing project programmes and budgets.
  • Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary teams and undertake stakeholder engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and undertake field surveys, analyzing and interpreting survey results using approaches such as biodiversity net gain or natural capital.
  • Design and coordinate ecological mitigation.
  • Author and check a range of ecological reports and license applications.
  • Manage work enquiries, prepare bids, and build client relationships.
Requirements
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or an application in progress.
  • A degree in ecology or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrable ecological knowledge, either as a species specialist or generalist.
  • Strong commercial skills. FISC level 4 would be particularly desirable but not essential.
  • Natural England/Natural Resources Wales bat survey license level 2 (or equivalent) would be particularly desirable but not essential.
  • A full, clean driving license.
Security Clearance

This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
