Ecologist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team at WSP. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in providing technical advice and expertise to clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ecological surveys and assessments, including Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys.
  • Prepare tenders and proposals for ecological services, including habitat and botanical surveys.
  • Provide client liaison and project management services, ensuring effective communication and delivery of projects.
  • Mentor and train junior ecologists, promoting career development and growth within the team.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline, such as ecology, environmental science, or biology.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or willingness to pursue membership.
  • Experience in conducting ecological surveys and assessments, including Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
