Job Title: Ecologist

We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team at WSP. As an Ecologist, you will play a key role in providing technical advice and planning for ecological surveys, including Phase 1 habitat and protected species surveys.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical advice and planning for ecological surveys, including Phase 1 habitat and protected species surveys.
  2. Prepare tenders for a range of schemes, including habitat, botanical, and protected species surveys.
  3. Client liaison and project management.
  4. Provide mentoring and training to the wider ecology team.
Requirements:
  1. An appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline and membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management.
  2. Experience in undertaking extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys.
  3. The ability to work in a team of ecologists and environmental professionals.
  4. Knowledge of relevant wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies.
  5. The ability to author Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Chapters for inclusion within Environmental Statements is desirable.
