About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Director to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Financial Services business unit, you will be responsible for providing actuarial advice and services to a portfolio of clients within the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver actuarial services, including reserving, capital calculations, and Solvency II actuarial function duties, to a portfolio of clients.
  • Grow the portfolio through business development activities and ongoing client activities.
  • Lead and develop a team of actuarial professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with other teams within BDO to provide a range of actuarial services, including risk modelling, model validation, and IFRS 17 support.
Requirements
  • Insurance Actuary qualification.
  • Proven track record of delivering growth and business development.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Extensive consulting experience, with a strong understanding of actuarial principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • IT literate to a high level, with expertise in MS Excel.
  • Able to manage and deliver concurrent projects at any one time.
