Specialist Midwife for Perineal Pelvic Health

We are seeking an experienced midwife to join our maternity team as a Specialist Midwife for Perineal Pelvic Health. This exciting opportunity is initially for a fixed term 12 month period.
The successful candidate will have a passion for pelvic health and perineal care, and a desire to improve services for women and their families accessing maternity services.
The role will involve providing leadership and service implementation within our maternity services, as well as training and support for staff. The successful candidate will be confident and competent in perineal suturing and care.
The ideal candidate will have experience of change management and successful service implementation, and be able to work collaboratively with other clinical colleagues to provide care to women with OASI and other childbirth related perineal trauma.
The role will also involve establishing antenatal education materials and formalising care pathways required in line with National and Regional PPHS recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a significant educational resource in OASI, CRPT and pregnancy related bladder/bowel dysfunction.
- Provide and manage the care for women with pregnancy related bladder problems.
- Work collaboratively with womens health physiotherapy services, in providing midwife training and care for prevention of incontinence.
- Work collaboratively alongside other clinical colleagues providing care to women with OASI.
- Provide endoanal ultrasound tests for women with OASI and other non-pregnancy related bowel complications, as appropriate, providing feedback, recommendations and assurance to the patient and linking with other health care professionals as required.
- Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
- Evidence of Degree level study or willingness to work towards.
- Evidence of continuous and recent professional development.
