We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to join our team at a specialist mental health hospital in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.

As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families, and visitors. You will apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicate requirements to the wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working as a Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area
  • Applying relevant policies and statutory requirements
  • Ensuring risk is assessed and managed
  • Respecting and applying equality and diversity requirements
  • Identifying deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels

Preferred skills and experience include:

  • Experience in delivering and receiving supervision
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to assess and prioritise clinical situations
  • Effective communication between medical and nursing staff
  • Experience in Mental Health or Learning Disability services
