Job Title: Archaeology and Heritage Consultant

Neo Environmental Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Archaeology and Heritage Consultant to join our team in Ballymena or remotely within Ireland. As an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, we offer a unique opportunity for the right individual to work on a diverse range of projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our Archaeology and Heritage department in Northern Ireland and Ireland, as well as the wider environmental services team. Key duties will include:

  • Producing high-quality reports and assessments, including archaeology and architectural heritage impact assessments, EIA chapters, feasibility studies, and fieldwork reports;
  • Liaising with team members, clients, local authorities, and sub-contractors to ensure effective communication and project delivery;
  • Providing expert advice on archaeology and heritage matters within planning and development design;
  • Managing project finances, including producing quotes and managing budgets;
  • Assisting in fieldwork duties, such as walkover surveys, watching briefs, evaluations, and excavations.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in archaeology or a related subject;
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills;
  • Technical competence in GIS and a willingness to learn and use it effectively;
  • High motivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills;
  • A full driving licence and own transport.
