Job Description

Morrisons Energy Services (TN) Ltd is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team in Scotland.

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Commercial Department and project team to maximize profit and minimize risk.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing reports and claims to agreed timelines.
  • Implementing commercial applications and developing relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
  • Conducting thorough risk assessments and monitoring the risk register.
  • Managing sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring timely quotations and documentation.
  • Increasing knowledge of commercial issues and contract law to manage compensation events and claims.
  • Developing processes for accuracy and efficiency, minimizing time-consuming tasks.
  • Liaising with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure commercial cover.
  • Assisting the team in recovering contract costs and enhancing project profit.
  • Producing monthly project financial and forecast reports.
  • Developing negotiating skills and attending handover and progress meetings.
  • Creating a site commercial manual and documents to record variations.
  • Complying with company policies and procedures, including health and safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Undertaking other duties as necessary to meet business demands and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills and financial awareness.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Contract costing and contract law knowledge.
  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Clerk roles.
  • Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations.
  • Sub Contract Management and Cost / value reconciliation.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying and graduate or graduate calibre.
  • Full UK driving license and knowledge of the industry.
