The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to service users with complex communication needs. This includes assessing service users, designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment within mental health care services, and leading the psychology department in providing therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and DBT.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with complex needs, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and possess excellent assessment and formulation skills. They will also have a strong emphasis on teamwork, supervision, and continuing professional development (CPD). The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a culturally sensitive environment, providing support and rehabilitation to individuals with complex communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess service users and design and deliver specialist psychological treatment.
  • Lead the psychology department in providing therapeutic approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and DBT.
  • Supervise junior members of the team and ensure they receive ongoing training and support.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for service users.

Requirements:

  • Registered with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist and Charterable status with the British Psychological Society.
  • Successful completion of a Doctorate level qualification in applied psychology.
  • Experience working with people with complex needs, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Excellent assessment and formulation skills.
  • A strong emphasis on teamwork, supervision, and CPD.
