Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Specialist Midwife to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves working as part of the Antenatal and Newborn Screening team, providing care and delivering genetic counselling for women who are carriers of Sickle Cell, Thalassemia, and other Haemoglobinopathies. The successful candidate will also coordinate the care of women who screen positive for vertically transmissible infectious diseases.

About the Role:

  • Coordinating care and delivering genetic counselling for women with complex conditions
  • Participating in failsafe checks to ensure screening has been completed for all eligible women
  • Providing cross-cover for the Fetal Medicine Specialist Midwife and Screening Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Care coordination and genetic counselling
  • Failsafe checks and quality assurance
  • Cross-cover and support for the Fetal Medicine team
